Thats great ,infact I was having Hanspeter, Diki & Richard in my mind.
Btw, Hanspeter has been the "Good Samaritan", always a kind word & quiet help.
Im sure Diki would have preferred, the "CS Guru" title, hope you all know what CS is Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

A great idea these Awards and is very nice to get one but which Award we will have
for Soren ?
He is the one that makes this Forum possible and he is a very good Admin.
The Best Forum Admin Award ?
I support his nomination.

Hi Bert,

Soren does need a good award but the apt title beats me. The closest I can think of is "G70-Catalyst" (or making it fancy G70-Catz) because if it wasnt for his initiative many of us would not have got together. More than a technical view of keeping the board up & running, it takes a lot of level headedness to keep the forum a wonderful place to visit. So he is always there, though not involving in everything & letting members have their say but without whom all this would never happen ,hence the term "catalyst".
Once we all agree on a title ,the next question is who should present the award Wink ,it doesnt look right he himself giving away the title. How about the newly crowned members giving it away???

Hi George, catalyst is a good name, at least when you know the meaning of it.
Soren stimulates the discussion and I think this Forum gave the G70 a real boost.
The same now for E80, E60 and E50.
OK George, your proposal the "G70-Catz Award" should be presented to Soren.
Diki, Hans Peter , Richard, Giovanni and you George, do you agree ?

Hi Bert,

of course I agree with you. Without our ADMIN this forum was like all the other where people try to figth in place to cooperate each other. I'm an active member on fiew fora and this is my preferred one. Thank a lot Soren!

You have to give your self the Award because you are the only that can modify your admin profile and add the new Award-plug-in.

Ok Bert,
to me it's not an effort to post in this wonderful forum. The main effort carries S?ren selfless. Therfore let's think about how we can appreciate and support Admins work better than to day. I think an award is an appreciation for members, thats right. But can this be the same for S?ren?

Hi all,

from my point of view a better solution for Soren would be a donation...

Only few of us have made one, but if more people make theyr contribution then Soren would have less expenses.

You are right and because of that I say "Soren many thanks for this great Forum".
And I will donate again.

Hi guys,

Thank you for your kind messages in this thread. I am very flattered with your kind gestures!

Giving me an award will probably seem a bit awkward, because I will have to give an award to myself...

However, any donation to this project will be a very good way for anyone to express their gratitude for having this website. As you can see here I have spent and still spend endless hours supporting the user club community. I receive tons of mails about lots of issues regarding the website and the user club - many emails contains questions, which I often ask people to write here in the forum... I also have to maintain backups, installing updates, reconfiguring the system, adding new content to the website etc. etc. etc.

So I will consider any donation as a thank you from you to me for keeping this website alive... thanks in advance! Smiley Kiss

Titles are always going to be a problem but what about using 'Royalty' titles of some sort. Perhaps military service titles would be well suited....just a thought !

Best wishes  Derek Mikles  (serf-  a very low order !)

Coming from a democracy, not sure I want to vote for no King! Or General... Shocked

To be honest, I'm not sure I see any point in anything more elaborate than the Karma function we already have (although it seems to be used a lot less than on the old forum). It's democratic (we ALL can use it), it's bi-directional (if I'm being an arse, you can smite me, too!), and it IS moderated (S?ren can check if it being abused). It seems the very thing we are talking about, simply a number, rather than rank, and earned, rather than conferred.

Quote from Monty Python and the Holy Grail....

LARGE MAN
Who's that then?

CART DRIVER
(Grudgingly)
I dunno, Must be a king.

LARGE MAN
Why?

CART DRIVER
He hasn't got sh*t all over him.

OK Diki, but when your 75 you become a Commodore, at least when you are a Roland player.

Is Lionel Ritchie 75 yet?

I think his daughter probably makes him feel it, at least!

I do not know his age but I think he likes to play in full uniform.
His exception proves the rule. We all can not wait to see you in a Commodore uniform.
